This is a 30 year old Highland Park, bottled by Hunter Laing as No. 1 in the 2020 Kinship series. The series is a yearly release marking the Feis Ile Festival, as the independent bottler's new Ardnahoe Distillery comes on-line.
It was aged in a refill hogshead, which yielded 439 bottles.
The nose is very heathery, with earthy, mossy notes, malt biscuits in an old cupboard, candied lemon zest and faint peat phenol. The palate moves to barbecue surf and turf and malty notes with heather honey.
