Hven – Urania Single Malt

Urania is a single malt from Hven, an island in Sweden, and the first release of its kind from the distillery. It was bottled as a limited edition of 4444 bottles. The whisky was distilled in 2008 and matured in oak casks for the required three years. It is named after the muse Urania, patron of science and art. It is described as the first single malt legally distilled in simple stills on a Swedish island. It is made from water, barley and yeast. The barley comes from Scotland, Belgium and Sweden, and is said to contribute to a floral aroma. Three yeast strains are used to shape the flavour.
