Hyde 1640 No. 8 Stout Cask Finish is a blended Irish whiskey in a 70cl bottle, made from 75% single grain and 25% single malt whiskey. The grain whiskey matures in first-fill flame-charred Bourbon casks and the malt in toasted Oloroso sherry casks.
The blend is then finished for about six months in American oak casks previously seasoned with Irish craft stout from Cotton Ball Brewery.
Rich and malty, it has a nose of sweet vanilla, caramel and roasted coffee bean. The palate is creamy, with biscuit, sweet spice, raisins and subtle hops, and the finish is long, with caramel, toasted oak and dark chocolate.
