I.W. Harper Cabernet Cask Reserve is a Kentucky straight bourbon bottled at 45% (90 proof) in a 750ml bottle. It is aged for four years in new charred American oak, then given a second maturation in California Cabernet Sauvignon casks.
It pours a deep gold. The nose brings caramel, dark cherry, sweet raisin, black raspberry, vanilla and crème brûlée. On the palate, dark cherry and black raspberry sit alongside caramel chews, vanilla, graham cracker and rich oak, smooth and lightly smoky. The finish is clean, lingering and velvety, with dark fruit sweetness.
