Ileach Cask Strength (70cl, 58%)

Ileach Cask Strength is an Islay single malt, bottled at a cask strength of 58% in a 70cl bottle. It comes from a single distillery on the island, and the name Ileach is the word for a native of Islay. Peat sits at the centre of its character, alongside pronounced smoke, sweet fruit notes and a soft, oily texture. Maritime impressions run through the peaty flavour. The Ileach was launched by Brian Crook in 1997, and the cask strength version followed in 2000. The nose is peaty and smoky, with gentle sweetness and a light orange fruitiness. The palate is rich, peaty and sweet, and the finish is long, with the peat lingering.
