This is a 50-year-old single grain whisky from Invergordon, distilled on 1 November 1974 and bottled on 1 June 2025 at 46.3% for Master of Malt's Masterpiece series. It matured in a refill bourbon hogshead and a bourbon barrel, and 296 bottles were filled. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour.
The nose has strong grain notes and warming spice with polished old oak, then tart gooseberry, butter fudge and vanilla. The palate brings syrupy oatcake, oak spice, silky caramel, sticky sponge cake and nutmeg, with hints of a cigar box. The finish holds warming ginger, pepper and nutmeg with grain, toffee, vanilla fudge and deep oak.
