This is a 50-year-old single grain whisky from Invergordon, the Highland distillery in Easter Ross. It matured in a refill bourbon hogshead from November 1974.
Master of Malt founder Sam Simmons selected the cask in June 2025 for the Masterpiece series and bottled it that month, filling 296 bottles.
The nose combines roasted coconut and spiced tobacco with melon and dried herbs, plus dark cane sugar, nutmeg and ginger. Vanilla and runny honey lead the palate, alongside hazelnut and chocolate. The finish is long, with refined wood and a faint vanilla sweetness.
