Invergordon – High Rye Little Brown Dog (70cl, 58.8%)

This is a Scottish high rye spirit distilled at Invergordon in 2017 and bottled by Little Brown Dog Spirits at 58.8% in a 70cl bottle. An American bourbon producer was asked to work to American methods there, so it cannot legally be called bourbon or Scotch whisky. The mash combines maize, wheat, malted barley and rye. It spent seven years in new American oak and is bottled at cask strength, with natural colour and without chill-filtration. The nose brings cherry liqueur and pumpkin spice. The palate has pancakes with maple syrup, candied violets and malty fruit bread, and the finish is spicy with green mint, rosemary and nutmeg.
