Apotheosis is a limited-edition, cask strength bourbon from Ironroot Republic of Denison, Texas, bottled at 56.1% in a 75cl bottle. It begins as a five-year-old bourbon made from a blend of the distillery's heirloom corn mash bills: Roots Purple Corn, Bloody Butcher Corn and Floriani Flint Corn.
The bourbon was then finished for over a year in Pineau des Charentes casks. The 2023 release won the World's Best Finished Bourbon category that year.
The nose offers grape, crème brûlée and dark fruit. The palate is sweet, with cornflakes, vanilla ice cream, orange peel and fresh-baked bread, and the finish is medium, ending on sugarcane.
