This is a 10-year-old Islay blended malt, vol. 2, bottled at 58.5% ABV. The distillery sits on the A846 between Port Ellen and Lagavulin. The whisky was filled into a refill hogshead on 20 August 2012.
After a sample was tasted in April 2019, it was moved to a first-fill Amontillado sherry hogshead, where it spent a little over 36 months. The bottling is a tribute to Bessie Williamson, the first female distillery owner, who held that role from 1938 to 1972.
It has a light sherry finish.
