A 14 year old cask strength single malt from the south coast of Islay, finished in a Ribera del Duero wine cask. It is bottled by A Dream of Scotland in a 10cl bottle.
The nose combines strong peat smoke with cold campfire ash, charred wood and smoked bacon. Behind them sit blackcurrant, blackberry, black cherry and plum, with liquorice, violet, brown sugar and baking spices emerging over time.
The palate is dry, oily and full, with ashy smoke, sour cherry, overripe plum, caramel and dark chocolate, plus tobacco, leather and black pepper. The finish is medium to long and smoky, growing drier, with dark berries, cinnamon, sea salt and gentle red wine tannins.
