Isle of Harris – Single Malt (70cl, 46%)

Isle of Harris Single Malt is a lightly peated whisky from the Hebridean distillery at Tarbert, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is not chill-filtered and has no added colouring. It is matured in ex-bourbon casks from Heaven Hill and Buffalo Trace and in ex-oloroso sherry casks. After blending to the distillery recipe, the whisky goes back into cask for at least twelve weeks before bottling. The nose offers butterscotch and iced cherry pastry, leading to light fruit, delicate blossom and boiled fruit sweets, with lingering spice. The palate has rich buttery caramel with sweet clove and ginger against a dry, stony spirit. The finish is long and creamy, fading with gentle peat smoke.
