A peated single malt from Isle of Raasay, taken from the Na Sia Single Cask Series. It was distilled in 2019, matured for five years in a first-fill Chinkapin oak cask and bottled in August 2024 at a cask strength of 61.3%, in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered with no added colouring.
The distillery uses made-to-order 190-litre casks of North American Chinkapin oak, freshly charred and heavily toasted. The toasting caramelises natural wood sugars, which encourages sweet caramel and smoky barbecue aromas.
The nose offers strong wood smoke, black cherries, blackberries and dark grapes, with sweet toffee and a touch of ginger. On the palate, oak and smoke meet cherry syrup and sugared redcurrants. The finish is long, smoky and fruity.
