Isle of Raasay – 7 Year Old Peated Vintage 2018 Na Sia Single Cask Series Bordeaux Red Wine Cask #18/792 (59.3%)

This is a peated single malt from Isle of Raasay, distilled in 2018 and matured for seven years in a single Bordeaux red wine cask. It belongs to the Na Sia Single Cask Series, and 298 bottles were filled from cask 18/792 at a cask strength of 59.3%, without chill-filtration or added colour. The peat smoke is paired with the fruit and spice of the red wine cask. The nose is described as ripe strawberry, cherry, plum and blackberry, with an unusual hint of tomato, wood smoke, pepper and sea air. On the palate come sweet sultanas, dried figs and stewed red fruit, then dense peat smoke, oak spice and cinnamon, with an oily texture.
