Isle of Raasay – Distillery Special Release

This special release from Isle of Raasay Distillery marks the distillery being named Scottish Whisky Distillery of the Year at the Scottish Whisky Awards. It was distilled in August 2018 and bottled in August 2023, making it the oldest whisky the distillery has released to date. The spirit first matured in ex-rye whiskey casks, then was finished in ex-Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry quarter casks. It was distilled, matured and bottled on the Isle of Raasay. Peppery spice and nutty almond richness are described, along with sweet, rounded fruit from the sherry influence.
