Isle of Raasay Inaugural Release Single Malt Whisky 2020 (70cl)

This is the inaugural release from Isle of Raasay Distillery, a single malt Scotch from 2020 in a 70cl bottle. Only 7500 bottles were produced. The whisky was matured in first fill Tennessee whiskey casks and finished in first fill Bordeaux red wine casks. Mineral-rich water and long fermentations give the spirit a sweet blackberry character before it meets the oak. The American oak is described as bringing almond, hazelnut and sweet spice, with caramel, toffee and creamy chocolate from the Tennessee whiskey. The Bordeaux casks add savoury spice and blackberry jam.
