This is a lightly peated single malt from Isle of Raasay, the island's first legal distillery, which opened in 2017. Batch R-01 blends unpeated and peated spirit.
The whisky matured in first-fill rye whiskey casks, virgin Chinkapin oak and first-fill Bordeaux red wine casks. It is bottled at cask strength and natural colour. The bottle itself is distinctive, with fossils and rocks from the island moulded into the glass.
