Isle of Raasay – Na Sia Unpeated Rye (70cl, 61.6%)

This is Na Sia Unpeated Rye from Isle of Raasay, an unpeated single malt matured in first fill rye casks that came from the Woodford Reserve distillery in Kentucky. It is bottled at a cask strength of 61.6% ABV, non-chill-filtered and with natural colour. Na Sia is Gaelic for 'the six', after the cask combination used at the Hebridean distillery: peated and unpeated spirit, each matured in first fill rye, first fill Chinkapin oak and first fill Bordeaux red wine casks. Here one of those six casks is bottled on its own. Pepper, butterscotch and sweet spices are the notes it is typically described with.
