Isle of Raasay – Single Malt (70cl, 46.4%)

This is a lightly peated single malt from the Isle of Raasay, an island with a long history of illicit distilling. It is described as the island's first legal single malt, and comes in a 70cl bottle at 46.4% ABV. It is a small batch release made by combining six cask styles, with both peated and unpeated whisky in the mix. The nose is typically described as aromatic smoke with cherry, apricot and blackcurrant. The palate shows savoury spice, cinnamon, crystallised sugar, vanilla and butterscotch. The finish brings sweet spice, salty notes and cinnamon.
