Isle of Raasay – The Draam Lightly Peated (46.4%)

Isle of Raasay The Draam is the signature single malt of the Raasay distillery, a lightly peated Hebridean whisky bottled at 46.4% ABV. It is non-chill-filtered, and its golden colour with a slight red tint comes only from the casks. It is made through a six-cask process. The distillery makes two spirits, one from heavily peated barley at about 48 to 52 ppm and one unpeated, and matures each separately in first-fill ex-rye casks, Chinkapin oak casks and first-fill Bordeaux red wine casks. The character is maritime smoke with dark fruit, sweet spice and a fine salty minerality.
