The Draam is a lightly peated single malt from the Isle of Raasay Distillery, made from six matured components. Peated and unpeated spirit each matured separately in first-fill casks that previously held American rye whiskey, in new Chinkapin oak and in first-fill Bordeaux red wine casks, and the results were then married. Alasdair Day developed the recipe. It first appeared in 2021 and took the name The Draam in 2025, with the recipe unchanged. It is bottled at 46.4%, without chill-filtration or added colour. The nose combines gentle smoke, sweet fresh fruit, dry grass and green fern. The palate is soft and sweet, with green apple, red and dark fruit and restrained peat smoke, and the finish leaves pepper, mineral saltiness and fruit peel.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
