Isle of Skye 21 Year Old (70cl, 40%)

Isle of Skye 21 Year Old is a blended Scotch bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. It is a batch bottling that combines Island and Speyside malts with grain whisky, matured in oak for a long time. The black box carries a gold-coloured map of the island. Ian Macleod created the Isle of Skye blend in 1933. Its character is rich and silky, with fruit and sweetness, wood and restrained smoke, plus almond and nutmeg. The nose shows walnuts, dried banana and brown sugar, followed by wood smoke, clementines and dark sugar syrup. The palate is full and rich, with honeyed porridge, tropical fruit and allspice. The lasting finish keeps strong oak and dried fruit, with gentle peat smoke.
