This is a Canadian rye whisky from J.P. Wiser's, made at the Hiram Walker & Sons distillery in Windsor, Ontario and bottled at 43.4% ABV in a 750ml bottle. The mashbill is 62% rye with wheat and corn.
Three separate distillates are matured in used Canadian whisky barrels, first-fill bourbon casks and virgin American white oak casks, then blended. Rye spice stays in the foreground.
The nose has rye bread spice, honeycomb, green apple and dried fruit over smoked vanilla and nuts. The palate moves from roasted rye to raisins, praline and vanilla icing. The finish is medium, with toffee, toasted grain and a clean rye warmth.
