This is Jack Daniel's Single Barrel, a Tennessee whiskey bottled at 45% ABV, with every bottle drawn from one individual barrel. This one comes from barrel 12-4396 and was bottled on 23 August 2012.
The whiskey is made from a mash bill of 80% corn, 12% malted barley and 8% rye, and matured in new, charred white oak barrels.
The nose is deep caramel and brown sugar with vanilla custard, toffee apple and a touch of salt. On the palate it is rich and viscous, with banana bread, citrus oils and roasted nuts. The finish is long and sweet, with coffee, clove and toasted oak.
