This is Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Select, a Tennessee whiskey from Lynchburg, bottled at 47% ABV on 15 July 2014. It comes from barrel 14-2706, rick L-34.
The charcoal mellowing of the Lincoln County process shows as a faint smoke on the nose, alongside toasted oak, caramel, vanilla bean, brown sugar, maple syrup and pecan. The palate is full-bodied and oily, with caramel fudge, cinnamon, clove, black pepper, dark fruit and toffee.
The finish is long, dry and spicy, with charcoal, oak and burnt sugar.
