Souvenir Imperial is a Grande Fine Champagne Cognac from Jacky Navarre, blended from eaux-de-vie distilled between the late 1950s and early 1970s. It is a roughly 50-year-old blend, made from Ugni Blanc grapes distilled in copper pot stills.
It reaches 40% without any water being added. It is also non-chill filtered and uncoloured. After blending, the Cognac rests for over a year so the components can marry.
The nose opens with papaya, passion fruit and guava, then rose petals, pastry sweetness, cinnamon, cacao and tobacco, with rancio notes of dried mushroom and leather. The palate is honeyed and oily, with dried fruit, nutmeg and walnut oil. The finish is very long, with sandalwood and a gentle tannic grip.
