Three Ships 10 Year Old is a South African single malt from the James Sedgwick Distillery in Wellington, bottled at 43% ABV. It is a bright gold whisky with amber glints.
The nose offers heather honey, golden syrup and warm malt, with fresh apple and pear skin, resinous oak, soft leather and a little cinnamon and nutmeg. On the palate there is honeyed malt, apple compote and gentle dried fruit, alongside vanilla, toffee, almond cream and a touch of citrus peel. The richness softens with water.
The finish is medium in length, warm and gently drying, with honey, soft oak and dried fruit, and a last echo of apple and warm spice.
