Jaywalk Heirloom Rye

Jaywalk Heirloom Rye is a rye whisky from the New York Distilling Company. Its mash bill is 75% Horton Rye, a 17th-century heirloom grain that the distillery revived from just 10 seeds. The whisky was aged for seven years in newly charred oak and bottled at cask strength, at around 114 to 116 proof. The nose is sweet and aromatic, with candied pineapple, ripe apricot, floral honey and gentle oak. The palate is thick and mouth-coating, with tropical fruit, caramelised brown sugar and creme brulee, set against an earthy, herbal rye note. The finish is long and smooth, with sweet vanilla and gentle baking spice.
