Jean-Marc Roulot Corton-Charlemagne 2019 (75cl)

This is a 2019 Corton-Charlemagne from Burgundy, made by Jean-Marc Roulot as part of his négociant range. It is made with the same attention in vineyard and cellar as his estate wines: the vineyards are farmed organically, the grapes are picked by hand and carefully sorted, and the wine is vinified, raised and bottled in the Roulot cellars. In 2019 some fruit from Hautes Mourottes was blended with that from Les Languettes, and ten barrels were made of the mix. The nose is yeasty and smoky, with flax, polenta, a little wood and lime in the background. The palate is powerful and compact, with a touch of reductive character, and minerality keeps its structure in balance.
