Jean-Marc Roulot Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 2016 Magnum (1.5L)

This is a 2016 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru from Jean-Marc Roulot in the Côte de Beaune, in a 1.5 litre magnum. The domaine ferments its whites in wooden vats, of which an average of 15 to 18 per cent is new. The wines are lightly stirred on their lees every three to four weeks until malolactic fermentation occurs, then racked into stainless steel vats on the lees. The palate is broad-shouldered and powerful, with good volume and plenty of minerality. The finish is youthfully austere, saline and serious.
