Jefferson's Ocean Aged at Sea Very Small Batch Bourbon

Jefferson's Ocean is a bourbon matured on ships at sea. It began as an experiment with three barrels placed aboard the vessel of Chris Fischer of OCEARCH, to see what temperature swings, salt air and the gentle rocking of the ship would do to the whiskey. The result was a thick, almost black bourbon. Barrels have since been sent around the world, and a typical voyage crosses the equator four times and calls at five continents and more than 30 ports. The caramel flavours and dark colour are likened to dark rum, while a briny, savoury character recalls Islay Scotch.
