Jeppson's Straight Bourbon is a blend of straight bourbon whiskeys, bottled by CH Distillery in Chicago at 50% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It is non-chill filtered. The whiskeys come from MGP in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, and O.Z. Tyler Distillery in Owensboro, Kentucky, both on a mashbill of 75% corn, 21% rye and 4% malted barley. For the first batch, 135 barrels were tasted and 85 chosen, then sorted and categorised before blending. The nose brings cornbread, brown sugar, caramel, vanilla and cinnamon over seasoned oak. The palate is vanilla pudding and caramel, and the finish carries oak, baking spice and orange peel.
