Jim Beam Black is an extra-aged Kentucky straight bourbon, matured for longer than the original Jim Beam in new charred American oak barrels. It comes in a 375ml bottle at 43% ABV (86 proof) and is made by James B. Beam Distilling Co. in Clermont, Kentucky.
It won a double gold medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
The nose is sweet, with vanilla, caramel, toasted oak and a little nutmeg. The palate opens soft and silky, with burnt caramel, creamy vanilla, nuts and a spicy touch of oak. The finish is medium to long and warm, with wood and lingering vanilla.
