Jim Beam Rye is a Kentucky rye whiskey bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. It follows the pre-Prohibition style of American rye, with a mash bill of at least 51% rye. It is aged for four years in new charred white oak barrels.
A pronounced rye spice is balanced by sweeter cask notes and dried fruit.
The nose is dominated by bold, spicy rye with a little mint. On the palate the rye builds gradually, tempered by vanilla, caramel, dried fruit and spicy oak. The finish is long and soft, with bitter dark chocolate and a light peppery bite.
