This is a 12 year old blended Scotch whisky from John Buckmaster & Sons, sold under the name 'Glorious' and dating from the 1970s. It has a rich amber colour with golden highlights.
The nose is sweet, with vanilla and caramel, dried fruit such as raisins and apricots, gentle oak spice and honey, and a light smokiness behind. The palate is smooth and well balanced, with toffee, butterscotch, cinnamon, nutmeg, dark chocolate and toasted oak over a slightly peaty undertone.
The finish is medium to long, with spice, malt sweetness, gentle smoke and a touch of dried fruit.
