This is a Johnnie Walker 12 Year Old Black Label from the 1990s, in a 20cl bottle. It is a blend of whiskies aged for at least 12 years from various regions of Scotland, including malts from Clynelish, Cardhu, Glenkinchie and Caol Ila, with grain whisky from Cameronbridge.
The nose is sweet, oaky and smoky, with winter spice, treacle and white pepper. The palate is rich and full-bodied, with wood smoke, dry spice, barley, cereal, creamy toffee and a distinct herbal note. The finish is long and quite fruity, with sultanas and mixed peel.
