Johnnie Walker Blue Label The Cask Edition is a blended Scotch whisky bottled at 55.8% ABV in a 1 litre bottle and released in 2012. It is a higher-strength take on Blue Label, with more depth and intensity in the blend. Tasting notes describe a nose that starts light, then builds with butterscotch, vanilla syrup, fresh oak, sawdust and dark fruit such as blackcurrant wine gums. The palate is sweet for its strength and toffee-like, with a sherbety feel and drying spices. The finish is dry and spicy, with a nutty aftertaste. A small dash of water softens it.
