Johnnie Walker Double Black is a blended Scotch whisky in a 1 litre bottle, at 40% ABV. It is a smokier, bolder take on Black Label, launched in 2011.
The blend draws on peated Islay and West Coast malts, matured in heavily charred oak casks.
The nose is sweet and smoky, with herbaceous, mossy notes. On the palate come barbecue ribs, bonfire smoke and creamy vanilla over a youthful peat character. The finish is short and dry, with ground pepper, barbecue sauce and oak tannins.
