This is José Cuervo Reserva de la Familia Extra Añejo, a tequila made entirely from blue agave grown in Jalisco. It is bottled at 38% abv in a 70cl bottle and carries the 2020 date.
It spends several years maturing in hand-selected oak barrels, and the bottling honours the 200-year heritage of the Cuervo family.
The nose brings roasted oak with almonds, vanilla and cinnamon, plus hints of apple and olive. The palate is velvety, with roasted wood and nuts, sweet vanilla and spicy cinnamon. The finish is smooth and long.
