This is Jura 12 Year Old Sherry Cask, a single malt Scotch whisky from the Isle of Jura, in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky spends time in sherry casks, which shape its character after twelve years of ageing.
The nose offers sweet dried fruit, including raisins, with a hint of orange peel and warm spice. On the palate the sherry shows as a rich, fruity sweetness, like dark chocolate-covered cherries, with gentle nutty warmth. The finish is long, warm and lingeringly sweet.
