This 30 year old single malt from Jura takes its inspiration from George Orwell's novel 1984, which was written on the island. It is a 1984 vintage, bottled in 2014 at 44% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky matured first in ex-bourbon casks, then spent time in Gonzalez Byass Matusalem sherry casks. It finished in Amoroso and Apostoles Oloroso sherry casks.
The release was limited to 1,984 bottles, a number chosen to echo the title of the novel.
