Jura – 2008 17 Year Old Little Brown Dog (50.3%)

This is a 17 year old Jura from Little Brown Dog, distilled on 11 July 2008 and bottled on 4 June 2026 at 50.3% ABV. Only 300 bottles were filled. The whisky started in a French oak Oloroso hogshead and then spent nine months in a PX sherry cask, because the first cask did not give the sherry profile the bottlers wanted. The result is a big, sweet and powerful sherry style, very dark in the glass, with no harsh tannin or bitter wood. The sherry is clean and well defined, and Jura's slightly herbal character still comes through it.
