This is a 12-year-old Jura single malt from the Isle of Jura, distilled in April 2011 and bottled in March 2024 by Douglas Laing for its Old Particular range. It is bottled at 57.1% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The whisky matured in a single refill barrel and was bottled at natural cask strength, without colouring or chill filtration. Just 240 bottles were filled. Jura distillery was established in 1810 and rebuilt and reopened in 1963. The nose is spiced, with warming orange pith and a gristy quality. On the palate come barley sugar, plum and lightly burnt toast, widening into piquant marmalade. The finish brings peat drifts with honey, vanilla fudge and a crushed cereal sweet.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
