A 21-year-old Jura single malt marking a 200th anniversary, in a 70cl bottle at 44% ABV. It was distilled in 1989 and bottled in 2010, and the edition numbers 1,200 bottles.
The whisky matured in bourbon casks and was then finished in a Gonzalez Byass Oloroso cask from 1963, which adds marzipan, ripe cherry and plum character.
The nose brings mild spices, toffee, hay, floral notes, and a hint of smoke and grapes. The palate is lightly woody and spicy, with salt, marzipan, toffee, syrup, tobacco leaf, white pepper, cherries, plums and ripe pear. The finish is medium in length, round and malty, with caramel and floral notes.
