Jura The Bay 12 Years Old is a single malt from the Isle of Jura, in a one-litre bottle at 44% ABV. It is aged for at least 12 years in American white oak ex-bourbon casks, then finished in Pedro Ximenez casks that previously held 15-year-old sherry.
The name comes from the small bay of the islands, which lies opposite Craighouse, the village where Jura has been distilled since 1810.
On the palate it is sweet and spicy, with raisins, figs, ginger and gentle liquorice.
