Kamet is a single malt whisky distilled in Haryana, India, from Indian-grown six-row barley in copper pot stills. It is bottled at 46% without chill-filtration.
The spirit is matured in a combination of ex-bourbon, ex-wine (French oak) and ex-sherry casks, the sherry being both Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso.
The nose is rich, with char, maple syrup, vanilla, stewed prunes and toasted pecans. The palate is lean and savoury, with freshly cracked black pepper, rocket and pine nuts, and the finish brings English breakfast tea and pleasant tannin.
