Amrut – 6 Year Old 2015 Peated Ex-Madeira Single Cask #4711 (70cl, 60%)

This is a peated Indian single malt from Amrut, distilled in August 2015 and bottled in September 2021 at six years old. Amrut makes its whisky from small-grained Indian barley grown at the foot of the Himalayas, with Scottish peated malt used for the smoky expressions. It matured in a single Madeira cask, number 4711, in Bangalore. The tropical climate there makes the spirit interact with the fruit-soaked wood about 3.5 times faster than in Scotland. The whisky was bottled at cask strength, 60% abv, without added colour or chill-filtration, and only 200 bottles were filled.
