Amrut Peated is an Indian single malt whisky, bottled at 46% in a 75cl bottle and not chill-filtered. It is made from Indian barley grown at the foot of the Himalayas.
The whisky matures in oak barrels in Bangalore, at about 3,000 feet above sea level, in a tropical climate.
The nose is dry peat with a hint of citrus and old leather. Molassed sugar opens the palate before the peat builds, drier and spicier, and the finish is clean, with butterscotch and vanilla.
