This is a single cask, 5 year old single malt from the Kanosuke distillery in Kagoshima, Japan, released for the 2024 Chichibu Whisky Matsuri. It comes in a 70cl bottle.
The spirit was distilled in December 2018 and matured in a single re-charred cask, cask number 18223. It was bottled at a cask strength of 59% ABV in February 2024, and 486 bottles were filled.
The nose offers green apple and pear with a bubblegum sweetness, then vanilla custard and a little cinnamon and white pepper. The palate is creamy, with honey and fruit followed by cinnamon, clove and ginger. The finish is medium, drying and spicy, ending with dark chocolate and floral honey.
