A single cask Kanosuke release from Kagoshima, distilled in May 2018 and bottled in November 2021 at 55% ABV. Master distiller Yoshitsugu Komasa chose a first-fill American white oak cask, a shochu rechar cask, and finished the whisky in a red wine cask. The malt is unpeated and the release is one of 276 bottles, in 70cl.
The colour is amber with a hint of red. The nose has nuts, raisins and truffles, the palate is spicy and thick with firm tannins, and the finish carries the harmony of the red wine cask comfortably.
